mmac.care is established to benefit the general public in Canada by carrying out charitable activities within the meaning of the Income Tax Act (Canada). The organization’s purposes are charitable in nature and are intended to advance the relief of poverty and the promotion of health and well-being.
Relief of Poverty
To relieve poverty by providing direct assistance to individuals and families in Canada who are experiencing financial hardship, vulnerability, or crisis. This includes providing access to basic necessities of life such as food, clothing, shelter, and essential health-related supports.
Activities carried out in furtherance of this purpose may include, but are not limited to:
- Organizing and supporting food drives and food bank programs
- Operating or supporting community kitchens and meals-on-wheels initiatives
- Distributing seasonal and winter clothing
- Providing emergency shelter and housing assistance
- Distributing basic medical supplies and hygiene products
These activities are delivered directly or in collaboration with registered charities, not-for-profit organizations, and social service agencies to ensure coordinated, efficient, and sustainable support for persons living in poverty.
In furtherance of its poverty relief mandate, mmac.care also carries out the following ongoing programs:
Community Kitchen Program: Providing freshly prepared, nutritious meals cooked on site by volunteers, the community kitchen program supports individuals and families experiencing food insecurity while also creating opportunities for social interaction and engagement with individuals who may otherwise be difficult to reach.
Food Drive Program: Operating across multiple regions in Ontario, mmac.care conducts regular food drives to collect and distribute food and essential items to local food banks. These initiatives include routine food donation activities as well as larger-scale community food drives designed to address increased need.
Promotion of Health and Well-Being
To promote health by providing emotional, psychological, and mental health supports to individuals and families in Canada, particularly youth and newcomers, who face social, emotional, or psychological barriers to full participation in society.
Activities carried out in furtherance of this purpose may include:
- Providing access to counselling and psychosocial support services
- Delivering mental health and well-being programs designed to build resilience, coping skills, and personal capacity
- Offering group or individual support services aimed at reducing isolation and improving social inclusion
Delivery of Counselling Services
Counselling and psychosocial support services are provided by qualified volunteers with relevant education, credentials, or professional experience, including registered social workers, mental health workers, counsellors, and healthcare professionals with expertise in psychosocial support.
All volunteers are recruited through structured outreach and partnership processes and are subject to appropriate screening measures, which may include interviews, credential verification, reference checks, and police record checks when services involve vulnerable populations.
Public Benefit and Collaboration
All activities of mmac.care are carried out for the benefit of the public and without discrimination. The organization works collaboratively with community partners to enhance service accessibility, accountability, and long-term impact.
Compliance Statement
Any activities that require registration as a Canadian charity, including the issuance of official donation receipts or the expansion of charitable programming, will be undertaken only after mmac.care has been formally registered as a Canadian charity and in full compliance with all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations.
